Pickleball

WHAT IS PICKLEBALL AND WHY IS IT SO POPULAR?

You may not have a clue what pickleball is, but I can assure you that if you haven’t heard or played it, it will only be a matter of time before you do! pickleball is a combination between tennis, ping pong, and badminton. It is typically played with 4 people on a court similar to the size of a badminton court with the net low to the ground like tennis.  The game is played with a special paddle and a wiffle ball.

Pickleball is a sport for all ages; it is a social sport; it is easy to pick up and learn, and it is affordable!

If you are looking for a fun, competitive, and social game that almost anyone can play than you should seriously consider what Pickleball has to offer. So many people are looking for ways to stay active and have a good time, and Pickleball is the perfect way to do it. The popularity of Pickleball is only rising so you might as well jump on the train and have a blast!

Locust Hill has 2 pickleball nets on the tennis courts near Jefferson Road. One court is specifically marked for the game of pickleball.

The past two years, play has been loosely organized by members of the Club.  With the fact that this sport is growing so, and since we had such a strong representation of paddle players this Winter, Locust Hill is looking at possibly holding a Women’s league one or two times a week, as well as a mixed league with men and women.  We are in the beginning stages of working on details. We have played throughout the Summer and Fall as interest has dictated.
